Khondabi noted that she had married Joey Scribner Howard, her sweetheart from high school who works as a mechanical engineer within the energy utilities industry. Khondabi wrote that she along with Joey were the best of friends at Greenwood Christian School for years prior to their relationship beginning in their senior year in high school. Howard was a student at Irmo and graduated in Dutch Fork High School but he and Khondabi were friends for a while and eventually began to date. Khondabi was a graduate of Emerald High School, graduating in 2007, and of her home at the University of South Carolina where she graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism. She also studied sports and entertainment. Joey as well, is a USC graduate. Liam their canine is their dog. Khondabi and Joey are food lovers and Khondabi's favorite home cooking is onion rings in the Dixie Drive-In. Khondabi wrote: I am someone who is always curious. When I was in the elementary school I would do interviews with educators on the news program in the school. Also, I used to be the anchor for headlines each day. Oakland Elementary, where I was teaching at the time, had a program for news called WOAK. Following college, Khondabi stated that her first major assignment as a TV news reporter was at WAGT at the time in Augusta Georgia. Khondabi stated that she worked in the news for six years. In Augusta the following Augusta I was hired as a reporter in the morning at WOWK Charleston West Virginia, and in Columbus Ohio worked as traffic host and morning news at Local ABC and FOX affiliate stations.
